Damilola Adegbite explains why younger men are showing more interest in older women

Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite has explained why she believes younger men are increasingly showing interest in older women, saying confidence plays a major role in the changing dating dynamic.

Adegbite noted that society once made older women feel they should leave the dating scene after reaching a certain age, while younger women were perceived to receive more attention.

However, she said the situation is changing, with more younger men now openly expressing romantic interest in women in their late 30s and 40s.

“A younger man will see a woman who's 38, 40, 42 and say boldly, I like you. And you're sitting there thinking, I'm sorry. Oh, so wait, are we doing this?” she said.

According to the actress, the confidence with which younger men approach older women is part of what makes the shift attractive.

“And he's looking you dead in the eye like, yes, we are. And I think that confidence is attractive,” she added.

Adegbite also described the shift as a reversal of the traditional perception that older women were overlooked in the dating market, saying they have now become “the premium package.”
